Marie Antoinette: Princess of Versailles, Austria - France, 1769 by Kathryn Lasky

5/6

This is possibly my favorite book in the series. This explains a lot of her childhood before she was betrothed to the Dauphine of France. It explains everything until the tent where she leaves Austria behind her. It was well researched, had a very appealing character and humanized one of the "worst" Queens of history. The beauty of the author's craftsmanship shines bright within these pages. The historical accuracy was on point as well. I use this series for the Girl Scout JR badge Playing the past but I tell girls this is not a very exciting book and can be a dry read before they choose this novel.

Tarot CArd- Art of Life- Four of Pentacles - finding what is precious to you is a major theme in Marie Antoinette's Life.
