Minion was a good read and I enjoyed the novel as a teen but even then I found it lacking in originality. The plotline is pretty straightforward. The High rating is more for the later books in the series as this book introduces many dynamic characters and builds you into a fantastic plot with some interesting twists. I would say any vampire or Religion enthusiast should read this novel. It ties much religion together in ways other books pit them against one another. Also a note to make is the different Cultures added goes beyond religion and into the great melting pot that is American. It hosts the cowboy sharp tongued guy, the martial arts master and more. The writing itself leaves something to be desired as well.
